It makes little difference how engaged employees are if
leadership is disengaged…sooner rather than later, workers will disengage if
the executives do not set the right example. The model for engagement is set
from the top.
Recent research from Gallup across 500 firms in Southeast
Asia showed that top leadership can and should set the example. And unless they
involve their executive level in the effort, the organization risks slow
erosion of talent and mission. If your executives are not clear about what they
are expected to accomplish and if they demonstrate a lack of commitment to the
company mission, their teams will soon adopt the same lack of clarity and
purpose. The result is an organization that struggles to grow and even survive.
Employee engagement training is critical for an organization on this downward spiral. Leading companies make sure that the
leadership understands and is dedicated to the principles of engagement at
their level.
