While we believe that it is important to communicate a clear and compelling strategy to the entire employee population, we acknowledge that some employees may not have the context or business savvy to absorb the strategy in a way that truly engages them.
One idea that we have seen work through our employee engagement training is to ignite employee energy and commitment with a more focused chance to win…an opportunity they can personally envision and subscribe to.
The key is to present the opportunity as something that will propel the organization forward on its strategic path. It should:
- Be fully aligned with the corporation’s long-term strategy but it should also be achievable in the short term.
- Be clearly and succinctly described…in no more than 3 slides or 3 paragraphs.
- Have a clear and compelling call to action that includes everyone.
- Be exciting and appeal to the emotions of your key stakeholders.
Any ideas on what opportunity would galvanize your employees to positive action?
